Runways Hide 03:28
With an airline smile You always have a flight to catch You want to fly in style There's nothing like a pilot you can call your match Never knew anybody could be so wrong Never knew everybody but you was miles away from my attitude Caught in the grey of an aerial ceiling It's a feeling runways hide Feel the pressure drop To lift your feet up in the air Let the static stop And occupy the seat of an empty chair Never knew anybody could be so wrong Never knew everybody but you was miles away from my attitude Caught in the grey of an aerial ceiling It's a feeling runways hide Avionic sounds Click to show a clear descent Aeroplane touch down Satisfied minds like their engines spent Never knew anybody could be so wrong Never knew everybody but you was miles away from my attitude Caught in the grey of an aerial ceiling It's a feeling runways hide

Rail 04:00
Nobody’s watching the loner who steps in his shoes Tearing up tracks for the metal and scraps he can use Maybe cause no one's really there it makes me feel paranoid I go up and down Passengers rot on a shunter that's caught in the tube Hiding their pass that got stamped by a tramp walking through L.A. has trapped them underground at Lankershim Blvd I go up and down The cars are parking down the old rail line I think the city is so cold-hearted The trains always ran on time Nobody’s watching the loner who steps in his shoes Tearing up tracks for the metal and scraps he can use Maybe cause no one's really there it makes me feel paranoid I go up and down The cars are parking down the old rail line I think the city is so cold-hearted A transportational work of art dead Another way out has been discarded The trains always ran on time

It's gonna be a happy new year There's gonna be a little change Running to make that last connection Before time runs out and the bells of the new year ring It's gonna be a happy new year And the ground's just as cold as yesterday And the nights seem to get a little darker I miss you and the time the new year brings So let's have a happy new year Every morning we can sing Auld Lang Syne And we'll fall into the arms of the first day Of the new year and the beginning of our lives I can only blame myself for tomorrow Cause I’m wishing for things I can't have Last year was such a bad one Spending all that time lying flat on my back I’m drifting in an ocean Of memories and thoughts so far behind I’m lost in the darkness I’m drowning in the sea of my mind So let's have a happy new year Every morning we can sing Auld Lang Syne And we'll fall into the arms of the first day Of the new year and the beginning of our lives

Stupid teenage sacrifice Always learned a lesson twice But something’s always got me through To people just like you You are several of my favorite tunes I’d sit there dreaming on and on And make a compilation tape for you Late night on apartment row Rewound to O My Soul Back then, we had time to burn But I can still return You are several of my favorite tunes I’d sit there dreaming on and on And make a compilation tape for you It takes me back to pain I never thought I’d feel again Tonight the heads will roll motherfuckin’ rock and roll You are several of my favorite tunes I’d sit there dreaming on and on And make a compilation tape for you From fade to fade I never really noticed That it wasn’t the song that made the tape

Lost Tossed In the front row Crushed I was caught up in the rush My grip gave hold Where did you go? Flashing strobes will blink our eyes at the show Beating in time to the rock and roll songs that we know We sing "Na na na, na na na" Why did the lights come on? We were just singing "Na na na, na na na" You are my radio The car ride's long cause a speaker's blown Coffee cups And pills we stole To stay up late Sparks Somewhere in the dark We love mistakes We love mistakes Flashing strobes will blink our eyes at the show Beating in time to the rock and roll songs that we know We sing "Na na na, na na na" Why did the lights come on? We were just singing "Na na na, na na na" You are my radio The car ride's long cause a speaker's blown

Wheels 02:59
Leaving the books that were set by your bed and never read Wiping the tears from your eyes that you cried but never wept When I look into you, you aren’t staring at me You are peeping at someone you've never known Gently I ask what you ate off your plate but didn't eat Thirsty, you hold up a glass to your lips but do not drink Holding onto your words, this is how it will be Sitting steady on wheels as you wait to go home Walking down streets that your children run on You told me of houses of gold where you slept and checks you sent And inside your shoe someone clearly had left the Constitution Living documents change, only moments in time But for now we can sit here until I go home Walking down streets that your children run on

1st Avenue is sleeping But will wake up with the day She knows that life is beautiful But in a winter way She'll somehow fake a scheme He won't suffer all her longing Sunday mornings are for walking out the door She feels her spirits lifted By the elevator floor That descends into tomorrow And the taxi's open door She'll take a subway train For as far as trains can take her Sunday mornings aren't for faking anymore She's leaving New York City She sees a city fading From a bedroom masquerading as a big jet plane She has a family waiting And she knows they'll keep on waiting In the winter way they stand in place 1st Avenue is yawning As the winter has its way She’ll somehow break away He won't suffer all her longing Sunday mornings are for walking out the door She'll take a subway train For as far as trains can take her Sunday mornings aren't for faking anymore She's leaving New York City

Take It Away 03:16
I’m a traveler in your town Motionless without a sound Building castles on your beach Dislocated within your reach Unpack my only suitcase I can get attached to you (Take it away) Anyone can leave there (Take it away) Anyone can see it now (Take it away) If anyone can die here (Take it away) It’s gonna be downtown City streets don't wear down As my feet fall to the ground But all the gardeners hesitate They grow their gardens and lock the gates So tear up my tattered roadmap I can get attached to you (Take it away) Anyone can leave there (Take it away) Anyone can see it now (Take it away) If anyone can die here (Take it away) It’s gonna be downtown Lay out my lonely bedroll I can get attached to you (Take it away) Anyone can leave there (Take it away) Anyone can see it now (Take it away) If anyone can die here (Take it away) It’s gonna be downtown
