When LA Explosion came out I was hugely disappointed. After the meltdown that was the "She Don't Know Why I'm Here" 45 it sounded anemic and lifeless. Fast forward 40 years and we have a meaty, rockin' album that destroys the debut in terms of attack and Farfisa rock'n'roll oomph. It really should have come out in 1980 instead of languishing all these years. For me, that long ago 45rpm will never be topped, but this is so fine it's impossible to resist.

Fantastic group of songs. I have played the entire disc at least twenty times and it continues to grow on me. “Jack’s Lake”, “Sand Hill”, and “Questhaven” are my current favorite tracks. I hear hints of The Minutemen, Sabbath, Queen, The Clash, mixed with bits of Southern Rock. The vocals are reminiscent of Mitch Easter meets D Boon. Would like to hear more!
